The short answer to the question, “How much is a ceramic coating?” is about $200 for a quality coating. That answer only covers the cost of the product and there is so much more to a ceramic coating installation than just a product. The product does matter because you want a quality product if you are going to go through all the prep to install it. Let’s talk about that.
Ceramic coating prep requires a super clean surface. The coating needs to bond directly with paint and that requires all waxes, sealants, road debris and contaminants to be removed. Any break in the bond will cause premature failure on that panel. Your prep is tedious even without any polishing. You must be sure to chemically decontaminate and also clay the vehicle thoroughly.
Now let’s talk about the finished product. The ceramic coating is going to highlight any imperfections that are under it. Scratches and swirls will become more obvious. For this reason, you want to decide what you are willing to look at. If it is just your commuter car and the finish doesn’t matter to you, get an entry level package for protection and ease of maintenance. If you are anything like us though, you notice things. You will want at least an entry level polish to bring clarity to the paint before installing the coating.
All of our packages include that entry level enhancement service for the paint. This ensures each and every customer is blown away by the work we do. While the coating application takes under 2 hours, the prep can take anywhere from 4-15 hours depending on the current condition of the vehicle and the expectation of the client. Your best bet is to give us a call and let’s figure out what’s right for you.
